Friday Favorites for Fall

Oct 10, 2014

Fall is definitely my favorite season. I love the need to wear layers, as it's so crazy to walk out the door and it's 50 degrees in the morning, but by the late afternoon it's 70 and sunny. It also allows me to combine summery items like a maxi floral dress with fall classics like ankle boots or a leather jacket.

We're only 2 weeks into fall, so I put together some of my favorite items that I currently have my eye on.

1 - The 3 C's. Classic camel coat. Every wardrobe needs one. The one I have is from American Eagle and is (no joke) about 7 or 8 years old. I last posted a pic in this outfit post. Needless to say, I am in the market for a new one.

2 - Pop of red with this stylish yet functional crossbody bag. Living in NYC, going hands-free is essential for grabbing your Metrocard and swiping at the turnstile in 1-2 seconds. (If it takes you longer, people will give you dirty looks. During rush hour, this is even more dangerous.) I am also a normally "all-black" or "all-neutral" type of person, so am trying to infuse some color into my closet.

3 - Crisp white shirt. I realized I do not have a simple, button-down white shirt in my closet. I do not know why this is the case. Welp, it's time to get a new one.

4 - Distressed jeans. I'm seeing a lot of this everywhere. In every shade too. They've got this cool and edgy vibe to them, yet can be paired with so many different things to be made classy and elegant. Do I need another pair of jeans? The answer is always yes.

5 - Wool fedora. What is it about a hat that instantly makes the outfit? Not sure, but I always love Rag & Bone hats.

6 - Over-the-knee suede boots. Enough said. I absolutely love that Stuart Weitzman made a flat heeled version of the Highland boot for females like me who need to walk around the city.

Have a wonderful weekend!
