Since I started working in the Soho area, I have actually done more shopping in stores versus my normal online spots. It's so dangerous, having amazing brands and stores just steps away. Case in point -- I saw this 7 for all Mankind denim jumpsuit online, and at my first opportunity during a lunch break high-tailed it to the store on West Broadway to try it on. I think this is what might be called "love at first try."

Since it's getting colder, I wore this over an old Zara white blouse that has blouson sleeves, which ended up feeling very '70s, aside from the dramatic flares of the jumpsuit of course. If you've got a jumpsuit sitting in your closet that's waiting six months to see the light of day, try pairing it over a neutral long-sleeve shirt or blouse to give it new life!

Since I'm petite, I had to wear towering platforms that are hidden by the flares, which I actually like. I think some of the biggest differences between the flares from this season and the ones from the 2000-era are that modern denim is all about deep vibrant blues, higher rises, and defined flares. Back then, low-rise denim were the most popular (thank you Britney Spears), along with sandblasted light blue colors and flares that had ripped in the back because you wore them long and they dragged on the street (I am guilty of this). I have to admit that while I was at first skeptical of the reintroduction of this seventies classic, I have really fallen in love with the updated cuts and shapes that flares have taken on. Almost makes me want to cleanse my closet of skinny jeans -- oh wait, better hang on to those, for when they make a "comeback" in 2025!

  1. Hi! May I ask what size you normally wear in designer jeans, or specifically 7 for all mankind? And then what size you got this jumpsuit in? Would help tremendously! Thank you. Love your blog

    1. Hi Sami, I am either 25 or 26 depending on the brand and fit. This jumpsuit I tried both sizes in store, and the 26 just had too much fabric and it bunched around weird areas haha. So I got the 25 for the jumpsuit, and it is constructed really well, with plenty of stretch. It's just really long and I still need to get them hemmed about an inch or so before busting it back out for spring!
