Denim is a huge staple in my closet, and I've spent many years through trial and error trying different brands, styles, and fit in order to whittle my collection down to some of my favorite brands, including J Brand and Rag & Bone. One brand that I hadn't tried yet but caught my attention after seeing them on some of my favorite bloggers is Black Orchid. When trying new denim, I tend to focus in on length first, then the overall style and fit. Being vertically challenged, I'm pretty conscious of where I want the hem to fall, whether it's meant to be cropped above the ankle or if I'm ok having it scrunched. I don't like to hem jeans either, because I feel it messes with the overall construction and shape of the jean leg. The pair I'm wearing here is perfectly cropped, and I really love the muted, gritty blue color. And for the fit and overall style, this pair is made from a pretty stretchy combination of cotton and elastane, making it very comfortable to move around in. I also love distressing and ripped denim, and I love how the distressing here is not too over-the-top, and is just enough to bring in an edgy vibe. I paired it with a simple gray crew neck tee but jazzed it up with a favorite necklace of mine from Lionette and neutral suede sandals.
