debut collection of Monse, helmed by Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, I pocketed away their genius reinvention of the collared shirt, how they carefully deconstructed it with uneven buttoning and a casual shrug of a missing shoulder cover or two. Over the last year, they have absolutely crushed it in the fashion circles, dressing Sarah Jessica Parker and Selena Gomez, just to name a few. As much as I would love to support Monse, I can't drop that much cash on a shirt (yet), and so to my delight, at Zara I saw this irregular shirt at a regular person's price point, allowing me to recreate that undone but sophisticated look. The top I'm wearing came in both blue & white stripes and white, and I purchased both colors because it was too tough of a decision (yes, like Sophie's Choice). You might've seen the white version already on my IG, and I received a lot of questions on where I got it, both IRL and online. Everyone was so surprised to hear that it was $30; no lie, you should run to your nearest Zara store now, or get it online here. I love it with distressed jeans and a kick-ass pair of platform booties, but I also look forward to wearing it with high-waisted cropped trousers and suede pointy-toe flats for a more conservative office look. Style tip for this shirt: The level of shoulder you bare (i.e., unfettered sexiness) can be adjusted by buttoning or unbuttoning the top-most button.
