NYFW: Rebecca Minkoff

Sep 19, 2016

I was so excited to be able to go backstage with my blogger buddy, Cristal from Beauty Goodies, to the Rebecca Minkoff show during last week's NYFW. I think it was a genius marketing move for them, to showcase the outfits right in the heart of Soho outside the store, and then have almost everything available to purchase. They were so successful with the "see it, buy it" concept last season that other designers tried the same approach this season. It was such a fun experience, especially since they shut down the Magnum ice cream store for a few hours to act as the backstage. I also loved seeing Greene Street transformed into a runway - kudos to the models who could walk on those cobblestones! It helped that the footwear featured mainly velvet booties, perfect for stomping on uneven NYC streets. I saw so many influential bloggers, including Aimee Song (#girlcrush) and her sister Dani, Rocky Barnes, Danielle Bernstein, as well as Arielle Charnas and Chriselle Lim, who both walked the show. Keep scrolling to see more, as well as video snippets of some of my favorite looks for fall.
Looking forward to camel coat season!

The aftermath, and being kicked off the "runway" since Greene Street needed to be reopened.

Hope you enjoyed a peek behind-the-scenes, and stay tuned this week for my recap of Jonathan Simkhai backstage!
