I'm really on an off-the-shoulder kick! When this trend first hit the street style scene last spring/summer, I thought it wasn't really something for me. It felt young, a bit too cutesy, and reminded me of Princess Jasmine. Then I tried this chambray Zara number and all of sudden felt transformed. It was subtly sexy, baring the shoulders and showing off the clavicles in a way that I had not tried yet in my "grown-up" clothing collection. Now a year later, the silhouette is still going on strong and has evolved into ultra-sophisticated and daring designs. Though you can find it in every store in all colors and prints imaginable, cropped and in long-form as a dress, I gravitate towards the classic neutrals of black and white. I know these will always pair well with things I already own, and I won't look back a year (or even 6 months!) from now and wonder "what was I thinking." I also look for pieces that have a little bit of an interesting twist, like this black top with lace detailing and peplum hem. My most recent addition is this re:named one from Shopbop, and I was super happy to find that it is under $100. I am smitten with the flared sleeves (also hot for fall), with the little peek-a-boo slits at the elbows. Here I kept things sleek in almost all black, as the jeans are actually a very dark gray. I also want to pair it with ripped denim and these super cute olive green suede loafers for a perfect fall look.
