I'm really glad to see the shoulder movement continue into fall, with no signs of slowing down as we move into the months where we traditionally cover every inch of bare skin as the temperature continues to dip. Luckily, we've had a pretty mild fall in the city so far. To take advantage, I was so excited to wear this military-inspired off-the-shoulder blazer. I recently purchased it from Curriculum, an online boutique based in Canada, which allowed me to avoid paying sales taxes, haha! Like all trends, at some point the bare shoulders will give way to a new silhouette that will overtake editorials and our Instagrams, and so I tend to pick pieces that are still rooted in something classic. I love the fact that the blazer is black, so I know it's going to go with literally everything I own - distressed denim, trousers, and what I wore here, a perfect pair of leather pants. The gold embossed buttons give it that utilitarian feel, helping to balance out the subtle sexiness of bare shoulders and décolletage. Throw on a pair of black heels to complete the look, or trade them out for black suede booties for a perfect nighttime vibe.
