A couple weekends ago, we took advantage of the beautiful pre-spring weather to spend the entire day downtown in FiDi. And I admit, I couldn't believe I haven't spent more time wandering the history-filled streets that meander and intersect at random corners. It was like being in a completely different city, even though New York City really was founded downtown. We were able to check out the usual tourist spots, like the Charging Bull vs. Fearless Girl, pay our respects to Hamilton's gravesite, and grab beers at my new favorite home, the colonial and historic Fraunces Tavern. I knew I wanted to wear comfortable shoes to explore, and was happy to be able to pull out these gray suede Rag & Bone sneaks that I bought at the end of 2016. The gray version is majorly on sale now, so snag a pair in your size if it's available. For additional options, they also come in velvety blue and red, both on sale and perfect for a little burst of spring color. I also wore in this outfit a white henley paired with leather pants, as I love pairing casual and luxe together. My new favorite utility jacket completes the look, and it is super affordable under $50. The whole "oversized tarp" look is totally on trend right now, and since it can easily swallow you up, the key is to play the proportion game and make sure everything else is simple and clean.
