I am most definitely a denim gal, and will always prefer jeans over skirts, dresses, trousers, shorts, skorts, etc. There's something about a great pair of jeans - they're super versatile and can be worn in so many different ways. My first rule to picking a great pair of jeans is that they have to make your posterior look good. Because let's not kid ourselves. That's what you're going to check out first in the mirror, and that's what everyone is going to look at. So it has to fit the derrière. My second rule is specific for my height, as being petite, the length must hit at the right point around my ankle if it's a skinny jean. If it's flares, it should be slightly long so I can wear 3-4 inch heels or boots (as I wrote about in this post). For the longest time, I avoided crop flares because it blatantly broke my second rule. Every pair I tried on, the length was so awkward, and did not look good with neither flats nor heels. Then I found them. An amazing pair of high-waisted, comfortable, and perfect pair of crop flares from Mother Denim. I ordered them really just to try, but once I had them in my life, I had to keep them. I couldn't wait to pair them with a white bodysuit like in this outfit, and am totally taking my new favorite denim into summer with breezy tanks and suede block mules.
